The June 13-19 Elite QB Academy at Saddlebrook Resort is in the books. A special thank you to all of the parents who made this event possible for their sons.

Elite QB Academy

Participating Quarterbacks grew by leaps bounds from Day 1 to Day 5. Coaches Joe Dickinson, Mike Loyd, Jason Riley and Paulette Ngu led the Quarterbacks each day through a series of drills focusing on every aspect of the Quarterback position. Quarterbacks left the week as new members of the DeBartolo Sports University Fraternity. Sleeping, eating and training together created many new friendships. It was great to see Quarterbacks with the same passion and commitment to the game helping each other out.

Without a doubt, this Elite QB Academy will be one to remember.

Straight from the Coach's desk, here are a few comments on each of the participants.

Preston Brown (Timpview HS - Provo, UT)

Brown is a very impressive young QB, who comes from a very successfull football family. Three of his older brothers are D1 players. Brown was a very popular camper and has been around the country refining his QB skills. No question he will be as successful as his brothers.

David Cornwell (Millard South HS - Omaha, NE)

During the week, the sophmore QB from Omaha really started to show what kind of leader he will be. Cornwell is already taller than 6 feet and is still growing. He will be the size that all D1 coaches look for (can't coach size). He's developing into a great QB and will have a bright future in football.

Augie DeBiase (Providence School - Jacksonville, FL)

DeBiase had the highlight of the week when he defeated an upperclassman QB during the evening competition (note: he is only a 7th grader). He is Elite in every way. He will continue to get better with his footwork, and will be a great player.

Nick Duncan (Springfield Catholic - Springfield, MO)

Very focused young QB. He has not hit his growth spurt yet, but when he does, watchout. Is fundamentally sound, and you can tell he has had some good training. I'm really looking forward to training him in the future.

Tom Fleming (Fordham Prep - Bronx, NY)

AKA "Rope", has the height and attitude that every coach is looking for. Has a tremendous amount of upside and an overall great demeanor. As he continues to polish the techniques that he refined here, he will flourish.

Daxx Garman (Southlake Carroll HS - Southlake, TX)

Garman has been in the DSU family for sometime now and has really carried the torch for the last year. He is a four star QB who committed to Arizona nearly 7 months ago. He is taking the world of high school football over 1 pass at a time. He sets the pace in all of the practices and is an impressive leader. Spent much of the last day signing autographs for the youth QB's.

Mac Katigan (Casady School - Oklahoma City, OK)

I'm very proud of this private training QB who we have been private training for sometime now. He has great feet, nice techniques, and fundamentals. He plays several sports and is very successful in all of them. The 2012 recruit will be very good.

Isaac Kay (Houston, TX)

He will be a big, athletic QB when we get his throwing motion corrected. He is only going to be a freshman this season and I am really looking forward to working with him throughout his high school career.

Cody Keith (Cheshire Academy - Cheshire, CT)

This QB has really blown up in the last 6 months. Tom Lemming says he is the fastest rising recruit in American, and he showed us why in the camp. He is a 4 star QB who committed to East Carolina University over several other offers. He repeatedly hit the "money" passes all week. Willl have a huge future.

Ryan Lane (Freeport HS - Freeport, IL)

Strong arm lefty from Illinois. He really became a smooth playing QB, once we corrected his overstride. He is a QB that recruiters need to get their eye on for 2012 recruiting season.

Jack Lyddon (Pasadena Christian School - Pasadena, CA)

Lyddon, coming from the land of QB's (California), has a ton of talent, loves the game of football, and is incredibly athletic. I really the type of person and player he is. As he continues to grow and mature as a QB, lookout for him.

Hale Macdonald (The Allen-Stevenson School - New York, NY)

Once he became acclimated to the heat, Macdonald really took off. You can tell he really loves the game of football and the position. I look forward to watching him develop into a fine QB.

Will McCullough (Crestwood Middle School - Royal Palm Beach, FL)

I like everything about this young QB. He is a future star at this position. Very mature for his age and thrives when put in a competitive situation.

Conner Preston (Serra HS - Gardena, CA)

One of the three 4-star QB's at the camp. Southern Methodist got a steal when he committed to them. Has one of the strongest arms that I seen in a long time. Loves the game of football. Took his team to 15-0 last season with a huge win over Oaks Christian in the state championship. Going into his senior season, he will have college coaches knocking down his door.

Ronnie Quaranta (Cardinal Mooney HS - Youngstown, OH)

AKA "YT", Ronnie was the surprise of the camp. Showed amazing improvement over the week. I loved his maturity on the field and he impressed everyone with some bigtime throws during competition.

Dustin Quigley (Hyde Park Baptist School - Austin, TX)

He is a very focused and athletic QB from Texas. Only going to be a fresman, this young QB is strong, quick, and has a great arm. He will be a college QB.

Colby Simmons (Clear Creek HS - League City, TX)

In the last 6 months things have really started to come together for Colby. Colby attended the inagural Elite QB Academy at Saddlebrook and it was nice to see how far he has come in his development since that time. He is really starting to look like a QB prospect. If he continues to work and develop, he will flourish.

Travis Smith (St. John's - Ithaca, MI)

This rising freshman caught my eye on day one and continued to impress myself and Coach Loyd all week. This young QB has had some good training. No doubt he will be a D1 player.

Chandler Sokolosky (Cascia Hall - Tulsa, OK)

Sokolosky comes from a very athletic family in Tulsa. I was impressed with so many things about this young, vibrant QB. He is ultra competitive and was very successful in all of the weeks competitions.

Thomas Stuart (Calvert Hall - Monrovia, MD)

Stuart was one of the top QB's at the camp who was not already committed. He is very athletic and is a true leader.

Grady Sullivan (Southlake Carroll - Southlake, TX)

May be one of the best to ever play at Southlake Carroll. He never seems to stop getting better. He has had a real breakout these last two months.

Haden Wachtler (Oakwood School - Brentwood, TN)

One of the Nashville cats! Haden improved a ton during the week. Working with the older QB's really gave him an idea of what a QB prospect looks like. If he continues to work hard, he will be good. I can't wait to see him in camp again.

Harrison Wachtler (Oakwood School - Brentwood, TN)

Was in camp with his brother Haden, and just like his brother made huge strides throughout the week. You can tell he really loves the game.
